Can I connect Mews to my Webflow website? +
Yes. You add the Mews script in Head Code, initialize the widget in Footer Code, and trigger the booking overlay by adding the distributor-open class to any Book Now button.
Do I need the Mews API for this? +
No. The JavaScript widget handles dates, room selection, guest counts and promo codes. For room-specific bookings you use the ShowRates function (part of the widget, not the full API). The full Mews API requires an Enterprise subscription and a developer, and is used for fully custom booking engines. The widget works on all Mews plans.
How do room-specific bookings work on Webflow? +
Each room in your Webflow CMS has a Mews Room ID field. On the room page template, the Book This Room button carries a data attribute bound to that field, and a small script opens Mews directly to that room's rates. It's native CMS functionality — no workaround needed.
Is Webflow harder to maintain than Squarespace or Wix? +
The initial setup is more involved, but day-to-day maintenance is straightforward. Adding a blog post, updating room photos or changing text all work through the Webflow Editor, which is simpler than the full Designer. I provide training videos so you can handle routine updates yourself.
